Paddle Round The Pier 2011

The annual Paddle Round the Pier three day festival is starting this Friday on Hove lawns. And this year they've blagged a load of skate related stuff into the schedule, the main attraction being three halfpipes; 3, 5 and 8 ft.
While there'll always be a ramp you can session at any point, there's also a bunch of stuff going on throughout the whole event.

Friday -

A load of 'have a go' sessions on the ramps and a bunch of other stuff starting at 4.30, and a video about Brighton scene at 7. Info on the Facebook page.

Saturday -

A load of Skate Jams and workshops happening throughout the day, with comps for all ages. Check the other Facebook page for the details, and sign up to both for updates.

Sunday -

Not actually sure what's happening thinking about it. I'll find out

It's gonna be sick! Get down there fool.

Apologies

Ok, if you were wondering what happened with the updates...we didn't factor in the fact that we might not be able to get to a computer every night due to travelling around. And as for the mini ramp edit, I didn't think about how realistic it would be to edit down 40 minutes of messing around on a ramp at midnight after 10 hours of skating. But luckily, Ads got straight on it as soon as we got back, so here's a little vid of Zak and Jak on Oxford mini, with guest tricks from Neddy our host. Filmed by Ginge

Back to the Goon from now on...

Day 3

Yesterday. Hit up this steep little handrail in Reading and managed to squeeze in a couple before the heavens opened yet again. Hitting some spots in Oxford for Go Skate Day today, and gonna try and get a skate in on the local ramp, so hopefully later tonight or tomorrow we'll get up a little miniramp edit for ya

Day 2

Second day was a bit better, namely because this time we weren't in Milton Keynes. Rained every half hour for most of the day but still managed to squeeze some maneuvers in between showers. Not much to show you except some funny faces, but some hammers definitely went down at these three spots. What, you ask? Well you'll have to wait and see...

Day 1

Day one was up and down. Not the best start - rain came pretty quickly after we left, so we headed up to Milton Keynes...

...to find a rollerblading contest in full swing.

Eventually managed to barge through them all and get a few tricks on our measly planks of wood. Forgot to take any photos though. Lesson learned for tomorrow.

Went to check out the infamous MK ditches on the way back. After a long time circling endless identical roundabouts and looking out over lakes...

...we stumbled across the steep one after already giving up. Was full of shit and pretty soaked but a few of us got in and fucked our boards up anyway.

Filmed a few random things and rushed home to pull our hair out trying to put it together for your viewing pleasure.

Ran into Barrat out fishing as well.

So that's the first day done. Fascinating, eh? More tomorrow (probably).

Lads On Tour

About to head off again for another week long filming mission with the Drawing Boards crew, hitting a few places round the country. Going to try and get to a computer each day to upload a few pics shot off my phone or something of the happenings of each day. Won't be able to reveal too much but hopefully there'll be some entertaining snaps to share. Haven't left my house yet so gonna start with a pic of this snazzy bag I found in my wardrobe to take my stuff in.

It'l get better I promise. I'm off for the train. Check back soon!

More Barca

Have a look at Skateboarding Photo, it's a monthly web mag featuring some sick articles and photography amongst other things.

Issue 6 has just come out, and features this pretty hefty article of a bunch more photos that we got out in Barca in March during the Drawing Boards filming mission. Check it oot! Turn the pages using the tiny arrows on the sides.

ATTENTION

Hopefully this caught your attention on Fagbook already, but if not take a look and get down there.

Hove Lagoon Skate scene is on the verge of keeling over and dying on it's smooth white arse due to the huge infestation of scooter vermin and stupid parents, and people disappearing off to do God knows what instead.
Summer is just starting and this time 3 years ago is was fucking KICKING OFF, with so many faces that haven't been seen in too long down there every day, so I propose a day of bringing it all back to kickstart the Goon back to how it was.

Basically, everyone get down Goon on Saturday 9th July and we'll have a fat skate and a BBQ or something. And I mean ALL the locals, past and present. If you haven't skated for years, now's the time to come for a roll, you know you've been meaning to. Walters I'll bring your board down.

The ultimatum is basically; If the Goon and the local skate scene has ever meant anything to you, get your arse down there to show everyone it's still ours. If you don't you are a cock, of the highest order.

Put yourself as attending on the Facebook page and I'll send you a reminder nearer the time.

...

Hasn't been much to update with recently...weird how there's less things to put up in the summer. Maybe I should get some sort of video edit comp on the go...

Few things worth mentioning. Firstly we're right on the verge of being able to announce a comp for the Goon in the summer. That is a real comp run by us, not some Council Cringefest. It is happening and will have some sick backing, keep an eye out for the official announcement.

On the same lines, Creature are heading down to Shoreham a week on Sunday. So if you want to see Stu Graham, Taylor Bingaman,Darren Navarette and a load of others rip the bowl a new arsehole then get down there. Sunday, June 12th.

Also, I may as well leave this here.

Aaron 'Jaws' Homoki, Biggest Ollie Ever. They've even got the footage for you.

Maybe I'll hold a wager for the first person to taildrop off of the Goon wall as well...
